Welcome to the Factorio Ratio Assistant. This is the main menu. From here, you can calculate a crafting ratio ( ), change some ingredients to be ignored by the ratio calculation, a.k.a. "raw" ( ), change the levels of machines used for the calculations ( ), or change what mod versions you are using ( ).
For more information on what each of these sections does, click the help button ( ) in each of the sections.
From this page you can select what item you wish to see a crafting ratio for.
Press any icon to see the crafting ratio for that item. It will tell you how many machines it will take to make them, and each of their components, and the components of those componets, etc.
The calculation is done exactly using fractions. Any items that are not considered "raw" will have the lowest whole number of machines possible. For more information about "raw" items, look at the raw materials page ( )
If you're looking for an exact number crafted per second, you will be able to select that in the output page.
On this page you can see the ratio for how many machines are needed for each component, and their components, etc. It also shows how many items will be produced per second by that number of machines, and the number of belts required to transport them.
Press any row to show or hide the components of that item. You can also press the ( ) button to quickly switch that item to "raw".
The calculation is done exactly using fractions. By default any items that are not considered "raw" will have the lowest whole number of machines possible. For more information about "raw" items, look at the raw materials page ( ) by pressing the tab at the top.
If you click on the number of items per second, you can enter a custom number of items per second.
This page allows you to change what levels of machines you are using. It also has belt levels.
Press any row to show or hide the available levels of that type of machine. Press any of the levels to select that level. The selected level appears in green.
The different speeds of the machines affect the ratio calculation. For more information on the ratio calculation, go to the ( ) tab.
From this page you can select what items will be considered "raw" when calculating crafting ratios.
Press any icon to toggle whether that item is "raw". The red buttons indicate raw ingredients. If an icon is semi-transparent, that indicates that there is no known crafting recipe for that item, and thus it must always be raw.
Raw items do not need to have a whole number of machines making them for the ratio calculation. For more information on the ratio calculation, press the ( ) tab.
From this page you can select which mod to use. The term mod here is not exactly the same as the Factorio definition, but each is rather a collection of "Factorio mods".
Press a mod name to select that mod. Be aware that recipes with multiple outputs or multiple recipes that produce the same item will be ignored.
To create a new mod, start a new game with your desired mod configuration, and then copy the script found at https://github.com/asampley/FactorioRatioAssistantApp/blob/master/scripts/factorio-extract.lua into the console. This will put several files into your factorio script output directory:
- Windows: %appdata%\Factorio\script-output\
- MacOSX: ~/Library/Application Support/factorio/script-output/
- Linux: ~/.factorio/script-output
